My Reflections:
John’s courage to expose the immorality of Herod and Herodias caused his death. If only he turned a blind eye to their immorality. But John is a righteous man who doesn't compromise with any
kind of wrongdoing.
This uncompromising stand of John against
wrongdoing and immorality invites us to examine ourselves. How do we deal with
wrongdoing and immorality? Do we just close our eyes as if we have not seen anything? Anyway it’s not us who will suffer so let them
do what they want to do with their lives even if it’s wrong and immoral! The problem with
this kind of attitude is we are encouraging Satan to spread his wings and we
might be tempted also to do wrong.
Let us not compromise with wrong let us
oppose it and let us not do it.
