I am with you always until the end of this world - Jesus (Matthew 28:20).

Preach the Word in season and out of season reproving, rebuking or advising always with patience and providing instructions (2 Timothy 4:2).

Do not fear, Mary, for God has looked kindly on you (Luke 1:30).

My Gospel Reflections for Friday December 31: John 1:1-18

My Reflections:
How can we become effective messengers of Jesus? It is by learning from His cousin John the Baptist.

Mr. X is a volunteer church worker; he always want to be in the limelight. He would always request to serve on Masses that have many parishioners for he always want to  be prominent in the church community. Whenever there’s a meeting in their church ministry he would always talk even if its not anymore necessary for the simple reason that he always want to be noticed and to be well-known.

However when there are voluntary work to do in the church he is nowhere to be found. Is he an effective messenger of Jesus? He’s not.

An effective messenger of Jesus is someone who is humble, he silently give his time for the church and to his fellowmen. He doesn’t care if he will get noticed or not what is important to him is that he was able to do his little share for Christ.

John the Baptist did his share in preparing the way for Jesus. He did it with humility and simplicity. …
