My Gospel Reflections for Monday September 28: Luke 9:46-50

My Reflections:Everyone of us wants to be great based on our standards no doubt about. But not everyone is willing to achieve greatness based on the standards of Jesus. For Jesus to be great is to be servant of all specially those who are powerless. Those who have nothing in life except the clothes that they are wearing; those who are poor. Those who are willing to put their lives on the line so that others may survive.

We see at this very hour people who are great in the eyes of Jesus. They are the selfless and nameless individuals who are risking their personal safety so that others may survive.

The Philippines has just been hit by a typhoon that brought along tons of rain and destruction. More than a hundred have died; countless are missing. Hundreds are still waiting to be rescued on top of their houses.

Amidst this pall of gloom we also see selfless people willing to give their lives so that others may live (Soldiers, Policemen, Ordinary folks and others). They are all great based on Jesus’ standards. …
