My Gospel Reflections for Friday: September 5, Luke 5:33-39

My Reflections:
Jesus as usual was being criticized by the scribes and Pharisees because His disciples were not fasting often unlike the followers of John who were often fasting.

Jesus replied: “Can you make the wedding guests fast while the bridegroom is with them? A very profound statement that pertains to the wedding guest as His disciples and the bridegroom as Himself.

Modifying this statement of Jesus a little bit to apply to us: “Can we still be afraid or lonely if we know that Jesus is with us? The answer is a big No! There’s no need to be afraid nor to feel lonely if our knowledge of Jesus is deeper than the usual superficial.
